Former Poole Branch Member Bill Oliver, who crossed the bar a few years ago was there and present when Hunter won the VC. The story was regaled to me by another WW2 43 Cdo RM veteran, Fred Carrington. I'd phoned Fred to inform him of Bills passing, it was then that he stated, "he was there you know, when Hunter won his VC, Bill was there".
