Today marks the end of hostilities of the Falklands Campain as we unveil the new memorial stone that signifies that event in a meaningful and poignant way.
As a member of the class of 82, I am grateful that we veterans can stand united with pride remembering the events and the sacrifices made in the spring of 1982 on an island over 6000 miles away in the South Atlantic. The Falklands War was the last time British service personnel did what they signed up to do, protect our country and overseas territories from the aggressor and restore UK sovereignty.
Stand tall and accept the appreciation bestowed upon you today as you have the right to be proud, you stepped forward, stood fast, and stood strong.
United We Conquer
God Save the King
