Branch members were out in force playing key roles in organising various Remembrance Day parades and events across Poole at the weekend.
We started with our pilgrimage to Emmitt’s Hill, on Saturday 11 November where we were treated to spectacular scenery on a bright clear morning. Our service was well attended with over 30 members making the trip along the footpath to our memorial on the clifftop.

Members gather around the walled garden that shelters our memorial which is dedicated to the memory of all Royal Marines who have been lost in conflicts since the end of WW2.
The standard was carried by Clive Jennings, the reading was carried out by the Branch Secretary Rod Playford and the wreath was laid by the Chairman, David Sippitt.
Poole Park.
On Sunday the 12 November, a large contingent of members paraded at the memorial in Poole Park, Our standard was carried by Patrick Hopper and a wreathe we laid by Vice Chairman Tony Ward. The parade was supported by Kevin Snoddy who acted as one of the parade marshals. The Parade sets off from the Cricket Pavilion making its way to the War Memorial for the service to start at 10:50 Following the service, the parade reform and march back to the Cricket Pavilion where it will be dismissed.

Members then made their way to the Centenary Club to remember our comrades with a tot or two. We must thank the club for providing a nourishing buffet.
Broadstone.
We had our largest contingent of nearly 30 RM veterans joined the parade accompanied by many members of 148 Bty. A Branch wreath was laid by Rod Playford and the Parade was led by David Sippitt the Chairman of Broadstone RBL.
